The Handoff: RunGr8 to Second Wind

For twelve years, the Christensen family built The RunGr8 Running Center into the specialty running shop for the South Salt Lake valley. Thousands of fittings. A trusted staff. A reputation earned.

In June 2026 they decided to pass the store on. As part of the ownership transition, we are re-branding to Second Wind Run Co.

Heidi and Blake Christensen built something great. Our first job is to honor that legacy.

Until then, our store is fully open and operational as RunGr8.

Through the rebrand, the continuity matters as much as the change. Here’s what to expect.

What will not change:

  • Our staff. Our floor staff knows shoes better than anyone and will remain through the transition. You will continue to find the same great service levels when you come into our store.

  • Our fit process. Expect the same foot scan, gait analysis, and thoughtful fitting process,

  • Our legacy brands and product assortment. We are not sunsetting any of our brand partners.

  • Location: We’ll continue to operate at 2608 W 12600 S in Riverton.

New benefits:

  • Brand identity: Second Wind’s mission and product assortment will extend beyond running. We are focused more holistically on strength, longevity and recovery for all customer types.

  • Store refresh: Ahead of the grand re-opening the store will get new signage and an interior refresh to reflect the new brand identity.

  • Better digital experience: We are reinvesting in our online store to make it easier to buy online.

  • Assortment expansion: We are adding new brands on our footwear wall, and expanding non-footwear assortment. New additions will reflect our focus on strength, longevity and recovery.
